Default Koni question

hey I have neuspeed yellows (Neuspeed Race springs f-2.0" r-2.0" f-500 lb/in r-450 lb/in). And i was about to buy koni yellows but i saw a post somewhere in this forum which said something about having to revalve the koni's so they can handle 500 lb/in. and up spring rates. Can someone please enlighten me on this subject?

Through my reading on this site everyone says 500 is the limit and going any higher requires revalving? Can anyone chime in and elaborate. I hope I'm right because I may go Koni/GC with 500f 400r

Run the Neuspeed Race springs on a set of normal KONI Sports of Neuspeed KONI SP3s if they are primarily being used on the street. Most of the Neuspeed Race springs are used with Sports probably than any other brand. If you are planning to actually race the car or you feel that you need more damping for the street (not likely), then you can get the shocks revalved. It will be cheaper and you have a warranty if you use the KONIs off the shelf and probably better for general all around duty.

I didn't know that the neuspeed race are that high of spring rates. Coulda swore I saw published data that said they were lower. H&R sports for a DC2 are published as 360F and 320R; perhaps the race springs are that much higher.

old outdated table, but gives you a general idea of waht increases they go from.

I'm running 400/400 rates on my OTS Koni Sports, and any setting higher than full soft is seriously over damped for street use. Really, I'd almost want less damping than they provide even on full soft. But thats just a guess based on how every single stock car I've even driven feels under damped, and feels more comfortable than a modified car that feels correctly damped to me.
