Koni problems
98 Accord lx 4dr, have Koni/Neuspeed yellows, Neuspeed Sportline springs. Went over a small bump and the driver's side rear end lost the spring, as the ring on the strut that holds it in place broke/slipped. Anybody seen this, is it fixable/preventable? I sure am lucky, as I often drive over a mountain pass. Hate to think how this would have gone...
Thanx, and sorry if I've posted this elsewhere. Just trying to get input.

This is the right place to post this.
You have some kind of installation problem. The clips and spring perches never come down when properly installed but they occaisionally can come down when misinstalled on the heavier Hondas (mostly Accords and Preludes). The two mail misinstallation culprits tend to be a poorly fitted coil-over sleeve (which you don't have) and the spring perch neing installed incorrectly like upside down, missing retaining ring, etc. Sometime also the car simply being set too low without enough bump rubber to keep it from going into coil-bind, etc.
Can you post any digital pics of the shock, perch and spring? This group has pretty sharp eyes and can likely see the issue. If you contact me by IM with an address, I can get new circlips to you but the circlip and the perch falling is merely a symptom of anotehr problem and not the problem itself. If you don't fix the root problem itself, this could happen again with a new circlip and potentially to the other corners of the car. We need to pretty quickly find your installtion problem and get it fixed.

Thanx!!! Yes, it was installation. I got it flatbedded to another shop, and once they got it on the rack they saw immediately that thespring perch had been installed upside down. So after 3 hours of labor things are right. I knew it couldn't be the design failing, I mean these are Konis. Not some ebay junk.
