Default Koni Problem

Great website here.

If only I have known of it before I installed my Konis..
Need some help. I am currently on Koni Yellow + Eibachs. Installed it about 9 months ago but already had to replace the front two shocks due to leaks.
This was due to wrong installation of the springs (they put it upside down!) so luckily had them replaced FOC (FYI no warranties in this part of the world )

My current problem is the left front one is producing some knocking sound when travelling on uneven roads. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the shock at least 4 times. Even wrapped the spring coils with garden hose rubber but sound still persist. I have no other option now but to suspect that the actual koni shock is faulty. My question:-

1) IF there is something wrong internally, can it cause such sound?
2) Usually we can tell if shocks are leaking by the oil that comes out at thru the top mount. In my case, no such oil is visible. Can it still be leaking?

Any other advice is most welcomed.

p/s I'm 100% sure it is not an installation problem cause the other 3 shocks are working just fine. No such sounds.
