Default Koni GS vs Progress differences

This summer I'm going to be replacing all of my suspension bushings because they're all blown. I thought it would be a good time to add an ITR on ASR swaybar, and I've been toying with the idea of getting new shocks/springs as well.

I talked myself into Koni GC, but this Progress promotion worked and drew my attention to those coilovers. I'm interested in a suspension that will still ride well but that will roll less and turn in better than stock. I'm thinking 350/250 rates and about a 1" drop only (MT roads are not the best always). Conveniently, those rates are easy to get with both setups. These will be paired with ITR rear swaybar and 195/55/15 S.drives on a 96 GS-R coupe.

My questions:

How does the ride compare between Koni GC and Progress with the above spring rates?

Would I need front tophats for a 1" drop for either setup?

How much of an advantage is the damping adjustability on the Konis?

Is it true that the Konis have a lifetime warranty vs. the Progress?

I'm trying to decide whether Koni GC is worth the extra $350-400. Edit: I forgot to add that this is DD only and must be wife-approved.

I really dont no about koni, but i have a 2005 civic and i have full progress coils on my car and i have the stock springs that come with it probably after the new year iam going to by my new spring rates really haven't decided yet on which rate. But i love the ride a little cost mine was 1,000 shipped, then a old freind of mine did my back strut towers (extended them) and they helped a big diffrence.

Progress are also alot cheaper IMO to fix wise as for ex: if u blow a strut they u can send the blown one back and if im not mistaken its like 75$ for a new one (dont mark my work) as for the top hats u can buy the k-sport top hats i heard they work wonders as for ride quailty and adjust ur camber and what not.

Progress will provide better ride quality, as it's not as stiff. The trade off is you won't handle as well as somebody on Koni/GC's. This is somewhat spring rate dependent, but IMO Koni makes a superior damper. I'm using my opinions based on driving two different DC2's with these setups.

Both seem to be reliable, I haven't heard of any early blowouts with Progress yet.

Koni's don't like to be particularly low, so if you're hellbent on more than a 2.25"+ drop I'd get Progress, unless you can find extended top hats for your application.

I'm probably going to run the minimum drop on each setup. The Progress I'm looking at are around $550, which is a lot cheaper than I can get Koni/GC for. Is the ride quality on the Progress definitely better than Koni/GC. That's an issue for this DD.

Koni SP (I have no idea what GS's are) = lifetime warranty and height + rebound adjustable.
Progress = 1yr warranty and height adjustable.

The warranty is an issue, too. I like the idea of never having to buy a new shock again for my car.

This is only an issue if you are going to keep your car for a while. Honestly I have had Progress way back when they went for $1000 a set and those lasted for about 10yrs. I'd say they were worth the $$. Only reason why I know how long they lasted because I sold them to a buddy and he sold them to another guy that I know.

I say progress is great having had both setups. Koni/GC/GC tophats and Progress Series 2 coilovers
