Install help on Tein Basic Coilover
Hey everyone, well my friend asked me to install his Tein Basic coilover on his 00 civic coupe. I did many suspension install, but i only do lower springs. This is about my second attempt to install coilovers and im basically clueless on what needs to be used and not to be used. For example, do i have to use the stock bumpstops on the new tein coilovers? And after i installed the front coilovers on his car, the whole front suspension just sags and bounces like a trampoline. The suspension studs or whatever they are called are also hitting his hood when we rocked his car up and down. Now my question is, what did we do wrong that is basically making his car sag? And basically what i did was just put his old top hat that was from his stock suspension on his coilovers and than placed it on the car agian. Can someone help me out and verify what i did wrong and how can i fix this. And is there any other stuff from his stock struts that i need to swap over to his tein basic coilover.. Ok thanks! Btw and can someone tell what i need to do for the back also..
You have to re-assemble the stock upper mounts exactly as you removed them. It sounds like you're missing some parts. Check the diagrams in the instructions for proper assembly order: http://www.tein.com/tech_info/inst/lh98u.pdf
Yes, you must re-use the stock bump stops if the Tein Basics did not come with any.
Installing these is no different than installing lowering springs.
