Default Function form coilovers - difference between type 1 & 2??

My car came with function form coilovers, but I'm not sure if they are type 1 or type 2. Is there any distinct way to tell between the two? Any info is appreciated thanks.

Type IIs have adjustable dampening, Type 1s dont. Look in engine bay and see if theres a little adjusting **** at the top of your shock towers. If so, then their type IIs, if not, their type Is

Type II's supposedly have more dampening adjustment.

The older model which was red like the color of the top hate is adjustable. Those pictured above are the newer version.

how did they perform bro? There's currently has been alot of non adj. shocks (full coilover applications) in the market and i'm not sure if they'll perform better than a skunk2 slip over coilover w/ tokico illumina shocks.

I have the type II on my car and on my buddy's car he has type I. Both work really well and have a great ride. Honestly I would take either 1.

what about durability? Should the F & F last as long as the koni / gc setup? Are the shocks revalvable?

that's a question u cant really answer because it all depends on the condition of the roads you are in.

Mine don't look like any of those pictured above. My dampening **** is bigger and says
f2 on it. Also on the actual coilover itself, they say f2. Doesn't specify type 1 or type 2. Anyone know??

here's the only pic I can currently find. You can kinda see what I'm talking about.

Ok this is what i have learned. All Fact. No fiction.

Chronological Order:

Original F2 Suspension (dubbed type I later): 24 level adjustable, adjustment **** is removable similar to d2 and i think k sport. Red anodized finish. with a F2 logo sticker on it. Very basic and simple. Silver shock bodies

Type II (first version) 18 level adjustable, with clicking. bigger ***** with yellow stickers, sticker on lower mount is wider, white/orange with a "2" hand symbol. Came in pink box. and have black shock bodies

Type II (2nd version) These are the current 32 level adjustable, clicking, steel mounts, with bright red "painted" finish. Yellow stickers with a suspension blueprint on them. And gold shock bodies.

Type I (2nd version) Same as the type II version II but no dampening adjustment. And softer spring rates. First few versions had a yellow sticker that said type I, which was a production error, all current ones have a white Sticker with Type I to differentiate.

The End. *smiles*

yea u got the o.g. ones. i can tell by the top mounts/clickers.

but if u look your actual shock body is silver *the threaded part). not the lower mounts or top mounts, those are red.
