corner balancing
i was talking to a guy today and we were talking about suspension and corner balancing came up. its something that i have always wanted to do to my heavy prelude to help it corner a little better. but i already have neuspeed sport springs and tokico shocks, which cannot be height adjusted like coilovers or sleeve coilover springs. and then the guy mentioned something about "a shim trick" where supposedly some shops will install some kind of shim to raise a corner of the car, and thus adjust weight disribution. does anyone know anything about this? the guy had a serious look and attitude about it so i don't hink he was pulling my leg, and i can't find anything abou this "trick" anywhere. doesn't sound like the most trust-worthy method of tuning though... it sounds like a cheap mans way of tuning.
adding spacers in the spring would change the preload which effectively changes the corner balance. but only so much.
more importantly however, even if you had adjustable springs, it wouldnt be of any benefit to you. not worth wasting any thought or effort.
