Default Coilover and Bushing question!

Ok, so heres my question!

When installing a spring/strut combo you are supposed to jack up the suspension before you torque down all the bolts to simulate actual ride height so your bushings aren't stressed, correct?

So when you have coilovers installed, I'm sure people don't re-torque their bolts every time they want to change the ride height! So are you guys just killing your bushings or do you get a specific ride height you want before you torque everything down?

Thanks in advance

This is correct, even with stock parts at stock ride height. Its in the shop manual.

You shouldn't be changing ride height very often (as a new alignment is required after any change). And yes, you should clock the bushings again after any height change.

so is this basically the method you guys go through when installing coilovers?

1) Install all your coilovers and put all bolts finger tight.

2) Lower the car and then jack it back up to adjust coilovers for desired ride height. - repeat as necessary

3) Once satisfied, torque bolts while car is on the ground or while jack is under the control arms.

If you only change the ride height by a little bit I wouldn't bother with the bushings
