Default Axle Problem?

Alright i have a 99 civic si and i heard allot of this popping sound on the passenger side when i turned the wheel, also when i would hit a groove or a bump the tire would move very easily to the right or to the left by itself.

So obviously i replaced the axle, with a brand new one. But it didnt fix the problem completely, it makes a minor popping sound still (nearly not as bad as before) and i can still feel the right tire when i hit a groove, but again not nearly as bad as before.

so could the new axle be defected?, or could there be something else wrong with it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Before other people ask...

any Suspension mods?

Is it when ever you hit a grove or bump in a straight line? or slowly? or is it when your taking a corner that it moves easily to the left or right??

the clicking is the axles... it happens when you turn left or right hard and accelerate while doing so... and for me, when ever i went too quickly down a hill or a dip.. that the car floats for a few seconds - i do have a softer setup 95 civic DX stock... it used to click too...

but if you replaced both your axles and it still clicks, it could be the wheel bearing... did you hit something hard accidentally? like a pothole, curb, etc?

Tokico illumnina R with skunkd 2 ground controls (had that before this happen)

Popping noise occurs when in a complete stop, turning the wheel.

Wheels turns easily left to right when hitting a groove driving in a straight line. Turning sometime, only if i hit a groove. When i hit a groove, the tire follows that groove very easily.

Could it be the control arm?

Where did you get the brand new axle from? I have had problems with new and rebuilt ones once or twice from napa.

I had the same problem, turned out to be one of my lower ball joints had taken a dump. Boot was torn and dirt and gunk got all up inside it.
