alignment idea
to start off my car is lowered and i am beginning to see toe wear on my tires. so naturally i want an alignment. i actually have access to one at work, but my car cant make it up the rack =( then it hit me, how about i raise the car to get it on the rack, then lower it to the height i want on the rack, adjust the toe, camber, then raise it to get down off the rack again. once im on the ground, lower it to the height i had it at when i did the alignment? seems to me this would work theoretically? i mean as long as i get the height where it was when i did the alignment right? i can use white out etc to mark my height and the toe should be adjusted to the car at THAT height am i correct? input please.
Yes it is.
You are seriously, seriously dumped.
The smaller tire increases the fender gap, so you lowered even further to get it flush.
Stop being an idiot, run the correct sized tires, and put the car back up to a reasonable ride height. Then you can get alignments (and drive) like a normal car.

but my understanding is if you have toe and camber set at a certain height. shouldnt it be set for THAT height regaurdless of how much you raise/lower your car??im going to use some fake numbers for example. if im at 2 and i set my toe and camber to spec at this hieght, when i raise it to 4, its going to be off, understood. but when i drop my car back to 2 wouldnt i be at the correct setting? correct me if im wrong.. this is assuming that no changes to toe are(endlinks) and camber(upper arm) are made accidentally, pretty much settings staying constant.

Now I used to run 195/50-15 as well, pretty damn low on GC's, but I still made it onto the Hunter rack at my buddy's work. I had to take my bumper off, and the side skirts scraped a bit, but it wasn't too bad.

This is on 205/50-15, but I still made it on there with 195/50's

My car is more slammed than that I think.

Do you know how to use wood planks? You can just drive the car up on the wood to clear the center lip on the rack.
I raise my car everytime I have to put it on the tow dolly to tow it to the track...once at the track I lower the car....then at end of the day I raise it back up to get it on the tow dolly.
I just use a paint marker or duct tape around the threads to mark where it should be lowered....it doesn't cause any problems.
Go for it

thanks for the input!! i think im going to try to ge my car up on the rack, no bumper, using wood if needed. if that FAILS then im going to raise lower and get the alignment.
I have just lowered my car, and the problem is, all my measurements are exactly the same, but my car is sitting lop sided by an inch. Checked every point on the new suspension. Just got the car, so I don't know if it were sitting this way before or not. any solutions?
