So I got a scare last night. My girl & I went out with a few friends & left my son in the care of my dad. As we hung out in castaic, we find out about the fires off the hills of sylmar. We recently moved right over on that side next to the 14 freeway which is over the mountains where the fires started. This was around 2am when we found out so I thought about of coarse my son, my dad & my little brother who happened to be at our house that evening. The closer we got to the 5 & the 14, the fires seemed to get closer. When I got home I was suprised the fires weren't as close as they seemed but they were still about 2 miles away in plain sight. Tonight I noticed the flames had come a lot closer then yesterday but the winds are blowing south of our area. Make sure those who live around the fires to not sleep through this & be aware of the situation! My heart goes to those who lost there homes & property when we have the holidays right around the corner. Make sure everyone stays safe & keep an eye out for those who are evacuating & need assistance.
