The SI is a very good car I really like mine a lot i have no problems w it, besides it being a little on the slow side. The main problem i have Is having the high school kids that not even a real entusiast copying me and getting the same color car and doing the same thing. But hey what can I say i guess im a TREND SETTER! but other than that GET IT!!!!

it's only good if you know how to drive manual. THe k-series trannies are a bit more sensitive and you can easily mess up and ruin the tranny.

the ep's tranny is almost idiot proof imo. if you can drive a manual then you won't have any problems unless the tranny in the car you buy sucks(if used)

The ep3 is a good first car in that it's nice, probably won't have any issues/problems and fun to drive.

It's not a good first car b/c it's not cheap (compared to an older hatch, for example), so if you're looking for a "project" type car and something to work on/make fast as well as drive, I'd look elsewhere.

If the Si is all that mom and dad are willing to spring for then go for it. Otherwise get something w/ more torque. I really liked this car at first but it complete and udder lack of ***** really over shadows the handling and looks that I bought it for.
The car looks like it should last more than few years before it starts to show its age.

beware of the tranny in the ep. im on my 4th and i bought it new in jan. of 04. sure i drive it hard now and then, but no harder than ive driven any of my other hondas in the past (eg cx hatch, 95 2dr accord ex, and 91 crx, all manuals). they seem to be a little troublesome. not to discourage you from buying one because it handles awesome but needs more power.

Yeah si's are awesome, I think tranny's tend to grind because most people constantly abuse them.

awesome first car. tranny is fine, just as long as you don't speed shift. (though, people just found out, if you change to a stainless steel braided clutch line, it eliminates the grind when speed shifting). smooth and quick car with potential.

The civic died in the year 2001. Big... slow... bleh. Buy an old hatch if your going to get a Civic, because a civic isn't even worth buying new. The resale value will fall quicly, and the older ones are better anyway.

Um... I had a 1993 EG, and my 2003 EP is better in pretty much every way over it.

the si doesn't even drive like a civic. it's ride quality is great. yeah, it's not as fast as other cars out there, but it has qualities that make you say "this is a great car". people that don't own one probably wouldn't think that. i thought about getting something else, but realized i would really miss my si if i sold it.

I have a 04 Ep and i honestly can say i love it, the it lacks power and somewhat torque but it does make up for it in handling and that is true u can just drop a k20a motor in it and make it a sleeper GET 1

My EP is great. Only problem I have had is a bad Cluch Master Cylinder, and a line went bad in my back window so they had replace the rear window.

It's a good first car, but only if you're getting a good deal on it... Honestly, it's a great car because so many people hate it... Unless you abuse the $hit of of your car, like any other honda it will last a long time. Some people complain about the tranny or this or that... well I've driven with those people... Both you and I know why they complain about it... hint hint... U get what you deserve.

You can get one if you look around for the same price as an EX, and that's what I did... ok well, that's what I SHOULD have done... But unless you're gonna get an RSX-S get the EP3, best bang for the buck, and has a bunch of nicer stuff on it than the EX/LX/DX... and alot cheaper than the RSX. People have been getting them from 16-18 out the door.

are you guys really gonna start this ****? for a first car, the ep3 is incredible. you can get one for 5-7 thousand less than a type-s....and if you put that much into it, with the right stuff, it will make a stock type-s cry. think about it, but it's up to you. you either like the body style or you don't. if you do, get it.
