Need help refining search,
I tried searching, got 468 hits. After page 7, well I thought I'd ask.
I have a 90 CRX DX. Found a D16A6 motor w/trans real cheap. But, it's missing wiring harness and ecu. Since it's a daily driver and I'm not looking for huge performance gains, can I transfer my d15B2 distributor and all other items from the B2 to the A6? It's a daily driver to and from work. Will never race. Don't want to put a lot of money into it. Just looking for a motor with less miles and in better conditon than my B2.
Thanks,
EJ

The best thing to do is use the stock dx harness, convert it to mpfi
use the si distributor and get an Si ecu..
You could just hook the dx intake and distributor to the Si engine,
but it would not run as good.
Look under the FAQ section under "dpfi to mpfi conversion" for links
on the wiring changes..

Thanks, I should have added that I'm well versed on the MPFI conversion. But, I don't want to invest the money into it. Since I'm getting the A6 real cheap, I just want a weekend project to drop the new motor/trans. Will everything else off of the B2 connect, ie distributor/sensors/. I know the exhaust and intake will work, and if I recollect, they have the same head. Will the motor idel smooth like my B2?
Thanks Again,

If you don't want to change the wiring,
use the Dx intake manifold and distributor on the si engine..
The coolant hoses are a little different I think..
But seriously...at this point,if the d16a6 has the intake/throttle body+sensors
I would convert to MPFI.. I think swapping the intakes would be more of a pain..
You would need the ecu-$30-50, the injector resistor box-$15-20 and some wiring that is not that hard to come by..

thanks, very helpful. I was thinking along the same lines. If I'm going thru the trouble, might as well do the MPFI. Although I have megs and megs of documents on how to do the conversion, I'm just not to confident with the electrical. Can't afford for something to go wrong on my daily, to and from work car.

I can admit it was sort of a hassle..
I had to have my wits about me..But I did it all at once..
I swapped in a B16a1 and did all the MPFI wiring all at once..
{and I'm an old timer as well--born in 1963}
but I have no problem getting on the freeway..
