Valve troubles for a 00' Honda Prelude SH
I had another question about my lude, when I ran a CEL check for my car I got back the code...
[(#72) Misfire Detected - Cylinder 2]
I had my car tested about two months ago and they told me that my valves were too tight. I had them loosen them for me but again my check engine light wen't back on and now they are saying it's going to cost a $1,000 to fix my second valve.
I don't wanna ride my car any longer before I make things worst but do any of ya'll recommend a good place that would do honest work on my car?
Also how long does it ussually take to fix a problem like this and would it be a good idea to replace my stock parts with anything else for performance wise?

buy a new jdm motor w/ lsd trans for 2500$ from import palace and pull the shitty atts anyways. it sucks. pull your motor and part it. things worth some money
cams/gears
egr valve
ignition system
head
block
sensors
throttle body
intake manifold
trans/diff
you'll make the 1500 back from parting your motor and you'll have a new setup without the bum atts diff

That's what I kind of had in mind but $2,500 is going to be a lot of money coming out of my pockets including the cost of labor. Do yah think it's going to be somthing that's worth the time and money to work on like horespower wise or durability. and the ATTS SUCKS ***!!!
Ok im going to take it to a shop on Monday and i'm thinking about just paying $1,000 for them to fix my second valve problem. I'm not sure what the problem could be but I know the CEL code I got back was #72. Maybe ya'll can help me break down the problem for me?...
When I baught the car about a year ago they gave me an engine that had the valves way too tight, and over time that can cause problems which is how my second valve may have got damaged. Do any of ya'll know more about this?

why would you say that the ATTS sucks? Do you even know what it does for your car? Or is this something that you just "heard" from someone else? Give examples to why it sucks.....
dude, fixing a valve and ****** valve seat does not cost 1000 dollars. Your shop is bending you over and demolishing your anus. Shop around.
ATTS might save your *** going FAST around corner/curve so you won't end up in the GRASS.
I agree, ATTS is a sensitive bitch.
Maybe he doesn't like it because the ATTS light comes on w/ the CEL.
BTW, do the valve job yourself, shakes did a write up on it.

then you should be more interested in full time limited slip. ATTS is a pyle of ****. Its a huge complex system with yaw and pitch control. The only advantage to atts is that it can actually take power away from the wheels where lsd can only transfer power. So in retrospect you dont have to be a good driver to do well with atts.
pros of atts compared with lsd
ATTS
can remove power from the wheels in order to give you better traction
LSD
simple
fail safe
light
Holds plenty of power
cheap
cons of atts compared with lsd
ATTS
complex
troublesom
heavy
also it commonly fails in long runs
LSD
lsd cannot remove power from wheels and can only transfer
Active torque transfer is a curse on the prelude. Its a load of **** that they didnt just put lsd on the type sh and better suspension

Very true : And with a shop that you can't trust in the first place their diagnosis could be complete B***ocks, code 72 could be any of these other causes ?
Ignition system, fuel supply system, MAP sensor, IAC valve, contaminated fuel, lack of fuel, fuel injector,
fuel injector circuit, low compression, valve clearance
I would def get a second opinion on this.

I thought that the outer wheel will pull more through the corners, not lose power......that's what iv'e read anyway. sorry about the hijack but now I want to know more

The whole differential can take away power to the wheels in order to get better grip. It will put more power to the outer wheel but so will lsd. If your a shitty driver than atts is for you

What was honda thinking when the built the atts diff. its extremely complex with yaw controls front a rear and a number of different sensors and added weight. They should have just put lsd in the car like a damn type R teg
. I must say I would rather have it than not but I would rather have lsd a million times over atts anyday.
