i have a small dilema in an engine choice for my soon to be (all motor) eg hatch. im looking to get either a b18c or h22a... for about 180 - 190 whp which one would you guys recommend with your experiences... my budget is around $5500 for the motor and mods together. i will be installing it myself.

a jdm h22 swap is like 2200 with tranny. that 170hp right there (not whp) with the remanng 2300 you can build the hell out of it.
b18c is 32-3500 so les cash for upgrades but its lighter. dont autox the h22, it feels like a reverse porche.

sounds good, my concerns with the jdm h22a is that i will have to upgrade it to pass california emissions and also the milage is a concern since there is not definite way to know how many miles it has. also i will be using this car as my daily driver and 1/4 mile racing at the track... im looking for mid to low 13s without slicks and some really good driving. the price isnt that much of a issue with the b18c because my uncle has a junkyard were i can get it for pretty cheap and know the definite miles. Are my goals possible with the amount of money i have...
Both are good.... they can both get you where you want. Just pick one. You can go through the whole H series swap or you can just slap a B series right on. Whatever floats your boat. Both are
