Are you referring to item 1?

If you are
Its only 140.49 and it can probably be removed and replaced with normal hand tools. I know on the eg/dc chassis the sub frame bolts on.

i think he may be talking about the actual frame. if so, then that sounds like a pretty decent price.

i slid into a curb and had bent my rear subframe, where the LCA attaches to the body. i had it pulled out 1/2" for $100 on a frame jig/puller

it is item #1, why would i be charged so much to have it bent back if it can be replaced for $100 (or even $50 as mentioned)? Is there much difference between replacing it and having it bent back?

I was told it's the subframe by the way, not the actual frame.

Well, thats because it will a LOT of labor to buy a subframe and put it on. I'd still rather have a new subframe then a bent one pulled back out though.

what price difference am i looking at between having it bent back and having a new one put on? The reason its bent is because i hit a curb pretty hard, so maybe the bend isnt that significant?

It's just like when I had to have my door replaced. They were charging me more to remove the door skin from the door skeleton and to replace it with a new door skin when buying a whole new door was much cheaper. Just replace it. Nothing beats new. Almost nothing, in many cases, at least.

I quoted 50+shipping cause I'm taking it off my car I'm parting out. It's 140 new. I would rather replace it over getting old one straightened out. They're charging labor by the hour most likely and probably how long it's gonna take. At first I thought you were talking about the frame not the subframe. Replacing it is pretty much taking bolts off and the replacing them back with the new subframe.

i just talked to the mechanic (hes a honda tuner as well), and he said its too labor intensive to replace. Isnt it just some sort of machine that straightens out the subframe? its an 00 Si.

the mechanic was talking in terms of price per labor hour. he was saying that its more cost effective to have it bent back, as opposed to buying a new one and putting it on. i obviously want to have a new one installed, but if the difference in price is too much i guess i dont have much of a choice.

ok. so im confused now. I talked to a guy at the honda dealer and he quopted me the whole front engine subframe for $542.52, but i talked to 2 other honda dealerships and they both said around $190. the guy who quoted me $542 is a honda head, so maybe the dudes who quoted me $190 weren't quoting the right price?

ok its NOT a easy thing to just throw the sub frame in there, and it doesn't just bolt in it welds in, and your WHOLE rear suspension ties into that ****, id pay that much to insure it was done correctly

he was just quoting a price for the part alone, not the labor.
