Default Changing trans fluid

didnt know where to post in here or tech.. but i was wondering about changing trans fluid in an automatic. its a 95 civic vtech stock trans.. should i just drain and refill or use a pressure system and then drob the pan and clean the filter. (if there is one?) any info would be of help. thanks

you can simply drain and refill. For an auto you may need to do this 2-3 times (drain, drive a few days, drain, drive, etc.) because a lot of the fluid is still inside the torque convertor.

one more question.. is pepboys fluid fine or should i used honda fluid

GM sychromesh....Better then Honda or anything else. Honda did nothing for my 3rd gear grind, gm sychromesh took it away.

he has an auto....

Use honda ATF.

should i use honda throughout the whole process of draining.. since it takes a few days.. or can i used the pepboys stuff for the first draining.. and then a couple days later redrain it and fill with honda atf. just wondering bcause i have some and dotn want to waste it..as long as it wont hurt the trans..

I'm gonna have to try this, I have a gnarly third gear grind, just changed the fluid with Honda Genuine MTF and it helped a little but the grind is still there. GM syncromesh available at the GM dealer?

changed my fluid today.. used the dexron 3 i had.. will change in a few days again with honda..

shifts like its brand new now.. no more hesitation or anything.. magnetic plug had metal flakes on it and gunk.. also fluid was blackish and burt...
