Spray paint question!!!!!! :|
Hey guys yesturday i got RUSTOLEUM(sp?) Black Flat spraypaint for my windshield wipers because the paint was faiding on them, i tell you what it looks brand f*ckin new now well i had like the whole can of paint left so i decided to spraypaint my cupholder and the little change thing on the left side of the steering wheel, it looks real sharp but chips easy....really easy, is there some sort of coating i should use or a certain step i didnt take b4 paintng, I know they have some stuff that goes on top but as far as i know its glossy, which i dont want. Any sugestions?
I suspect you needed to scuff and degrease the surface properly before painting.
You can scuff the surface with a grey scotchbrite pad. Just enough to provide a bite for the paint. Also, washing the parts you will paint will eliminate any dirt and oil and cause the paint to stick better..

Same paint isle with the clear tops. Clearn enamel spray. I used it mostly for exterior of my car, since it's shiny, water proof, almost scuff proof. Used it once on trim. Not too shabby looking. Just spray it lightly coat by coat. Don't let it run.
