Default Going to Japan, buy parts there? (New pics)

I'm going to Japan in November, is it cheaper to buy parts over there? Might try to get a JDM header at least, it should fit in the overhead compartment. Also trying to get some addresses together of a couple of shops to go see in Tokyo. Any ideas or experiences?

99% of the car shops are out of the city and away from any train stations, and the bus stops are few and far between. They are a total bitch to get to if you don't have a car.

If you speak decent japanese you can get directions from a cop or something, where in japan are you going?

If worse comes to worse, just throw your magazine at a taxi driver and point to the address, itll probably cost like $100 but youll get there.

I will be going to Toyokawa, Toyohahsi, Ayase and end up in Tokyo. Mostly buisness, but I will have a little free time.

Our cars are already ancient so I don't think you find much at general shops like Autobac, Yellow hat and so on. Spoon is you best bet but you aren't going to save much lugging it all the way back since US dollars arent' so strong anymore.
Most old JDM DC2R parts already end up in US these days.

You need to find an Upgarage or Autobacs Secondhand.

I can't give you directions to any of the locations you are going to. Well, maybe toyohashi, do you know exactly where?

I'll have a tourguide assigned to me so it wont be too much problem finding where I HAVE to go. Its more finding where I want to go in my spare time.

This clown has never been

You are a fucktard

Have a nice day

When you go to a Autobacs secondhand or UpGarage. You will **** yourself when you see the prices, selection, and exclusive boutique race shop pieces you will never see here in the US. BTW the airlines WILL take a race seat on board as long as you use check in luggage (of course)
<-Knows from experience

The DC2 is actually more popular than the DC5 because it was the last pure ITR. Pure = Made in Japan

it would seem to me that the wireless standard here (802.11 A/B/G) is the same here as there in japan. but hey, i'm not entirely sure.

Wireless connections are not nearly as popular as they are here. Most everyone uses Yahoo BB at home, I have never had any luck getting wireless in Japan.

The thing they use now are wireless cards from the cellphone manufacturers like docomo and vodafone and whatnot, but you actually need to be a subscribing member and have the phone maker card in order for it to work.

What about US cell phones? Or would it be too expensive?
Are the Autobacs stores easy to find?

How long are you going to be there for? You can rent a cellphone at the airport if you really need one. I am sure there are formats that work in japan for US phones, I forgot all the designations.

Autobacs is a huge chain, there is the

Autobacs: Which is like a pep boys, not a lot of performance crap on hand, lots of stupid trinkets and car maintence stuff.

Super Autobacs: Thats all new items, lots of performance crap. Expensive as hell.

Autobacs Secondhand: Mostly all used items, decent prices, most of the stores I have been to have an OK selection of parts.

Upgarage is another secondhand parts store.

JMS (pronounced Jims) is also a pretty good sized competitor to super autobacs.

90% of these are located off of any major road in the bigger cities, goto their website for specific locations.

http://www.autobacs.com etc
