Default Swaybay suggestions. Please help!!

I want to get a stiffer rear swaybar for my GSR. I am not really leaning towards the ITR rear bar bacause I don't want to have to drill out the subframe. Is there any swaybar kits that that use the factory holes with some kind of bracing? If you have anypictures please post them. Thanks!

I'm not trying to change your mind about the Type-R rear swaybar, but I will clarify about the drilling of the subframe. You may already know this, but you do not have to drill new holes in the subframe to install the Type-R rear swaybar. You only need to slightly enlarge (by approx. 1/16"-1/8") an two existing holes (ABS sensor bracket holes) in the subframe (see picture below). If you ever decide to reinstall the stock swaybar (which I doubt you would want to after you see how much better the car handles with it) you can easy reinstall the bolt and a new flange nut.

I still say the comptech combo is the best of both worlds

ground control makes an adjustable 22mm and an adjustable 25mm bar i believe. i believe they just bolt on w/o any drilling.

I just installed my ITR swaybar and yes there's a big difference. For the price its a very good mod. THe results are excellent. For the price of 22mm swaybars i would go with the ITR. The drilling is no big deal, all you are doing is making 2 holes bigger thats it. Everything else is bolt on.

its really that easy? Have any of you ITR Swaybar upgradees experienced any new squeeks/rattles/clunks with your ITR swaybar/kit combo? Also, is there any rear sway tie bars that will bolt on to that combo? I want a spoon rear tie bar, but i'm not sure if it will fit.

Get the Mugen 26mm! No modifications required, and you can bring your tail end out with a tap of the brake at the right moment. High speed sweepers have never been so much fun!

since you have to make a hole bigger in the subframe, then will it rip out?
i have heard that this has happened to someone here on this board, can someone clarify this?

I don't know about it ripping out. I have the reinforcement kit so i hope not. As far as enlarging the hole, i don't think it would make i significant difference in structual integrity. You are making the hole like 2mm bigger in diameter. Also there is someone on the board w/ one that doesn't use a kit and he hasn't experience rip out. I only installed it today and i guess if it rips out it will do it down the line. Trust me i will let you guys know if it rips out or not. As for the other sway bars they just cost to damn much for me. Especially when i have a more cost effective option. Yes it is very easy to do. I did it w/o the instructions cause my printer didn't work. Just figured out what went where by eye. If i die then you know why, but yes it's very simple. I have GSR by the way. I give it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really that easy!!! I have my Type-R rear swaybar installed for 3.75 years and I haven't experience any squeaks, rattles or clunking. I have also attended 7 driving events (ie. track events) which amounts to 21+ hours of track time and my Type-R rear swaybar has performed flawlessly. The reason that I mention the amount of track time is because it really puts a lot of stress and strain on the suspension. This stress and strain would accelarate any problems which may occur with the installation. Also there have been a tremendous amount of people which have installed the Type-R rear swaybar using my installation instructions and no one has reported any problems.

I do know that you can use the Spoon rear lower tie bar with the Type-R rear swaybar. I recently had someone purchase one of my BSQ mounting kits and they had a Spoon tie bar. However it was actually posted a picture on the board. I will see if I can find the picture.

There have been no reported problems with the Type-R rear swaybar when installed according to my installation instructions ( http://www.geocities.com/bretq/swaybar_install.html ). There have been a few reported problems when people have installed the Type-R rear swaybar using the Hybrid Honda installation instructions.
