Default engine oil problem....need help

i have a 5th gen accord with the F22 VTEC. I was routinely changing my oil a day ago and i noticed something out of the ordinary. The car calls for 4 qts of oil, but when the oil was done draining, only about a qt and a half or so drained from the car's oil pan. i try to check my oil and change it pretty routinely so im kinda at a loss. i cant find any leaks anywhere and im not blowing black smoke when i drive so i dont think im burning oil. i put the new oil in and it doesnt seem to have any problems but im still a bit worried. anyone have any insight?

i put 4 qts back in and like i said it seems to be running fine, just a bit concerned. i let it drain more than long enough for any and all oil left in there to drain out.

check your dipstick? most people ive talked to typically use slightly more than 4.5 qts.

let it go this time and if it happens again on your next routine oil change, maybe you can start to look where the problem could be - don't ever overfill oil or it will create high oil pressure that it can pop out a or two seals somewhere inside the engine, thus leaking oil. Always keep it within the two marks on the oil dip.

it happened to me once that it miraculously ate oil but after 2nd oil change, it turned out to be ok.
