Default Looking for REAL advice on professional paint preperation!

Please critique me here, this is what I'm planning on doing:

- Wetsand all paint with 400 grit sandpaper.
- Sand all dents down to bare metal and apply filler. Maybe bondo or something better??
- Sand down filler with 400?
- Spray with a sandable "primer sealer" a couple times.
- Wetsand primered areas with 400?
- Once all dents and dings are to my standard, WETSAND the whole car with 600 grit then 800?
- Wash car before pulling it into paint booth.
- Wipe entire car down with a tack cloth???
- Mask car, apply paint/clearcoat/etc. (I won't be doing this I'm leaving it to the pro)

Is this a good start?

I want my car to be immaculate when it's done. I worked in a body shop for about 2 years and these are the basic steps I *think* I remember. The car (my 240sx) will be painted BMW steel grey.

PLEASE let me know.

Thanks!

ok well wetsanding the original paint just for prepping for primer is not neccessary, just sand it. Also down to metal is not neccessary as long as you rough thte spot up with sand paper and clean them well.

dry sand the car and clean
use non-sandable primer as it applies to the car much nicer and wetsand it. if you use sandable primer you can dry sand, but you will have a lot more sanding to do.

we wetsand the primer with 350 and 1500 to get rid of orange peal.

most of all TAKE YOUR TIME!

oh and one coat of non-sandable primer is sufficient unles you have a thin spot to hit again.
