Default 91 CRX Si w/ b17A gsr and more

hey Im thinkin about gettin this crx I found for sale. Heres the stats on the car.

1991 Honda CRX SI-- Hard to find B17A (GSR) motor swap. JDM ecu w/ mugen specs. New AEM intake, Revo shortshifter, custom full exhaust. Integra suspension/wheels, lowered on adjustable coilovers. Very Nice sound system. Brand new clifford alarm, and pioneer cd deck with 2 custom mount 4 inch speakers in back with a JL 12" W3 sub in custom leather wrapped box, 1000 Watt sony amp mounted in back. Clean inside and out. Car is very fast and fun to drive. $4,500 o.b.o

It does look pretty clean, but I dont know wut I should ask and do when I go see the car. I dont wanna get ripped or nething. And u think this is a good deal? Also is there a way to tell how many miles are on the engine and not the car? If everything is perfect, this seems to be a good find. Help me know wut to do. ^^
thx, bobby

The B17 is the same as a B16 only its .1 liter larger. Its a square block meaning the stroke and bore are the same. These motors are somewhat rare as they didnt make them long. They use the exact same head as the B16. I think they are around 160hp at the flywheel stock.

This is just some of what Ive read about it. Do a search to turn up more good info.

oe rated 160hp. its not got a great r/s ratio like the b16 and i think the b18 has a better one to but i'm not sure about the b18.

its not a bad engine though. i'd rather have a b18 in a da teg but its good for civics if you want to be rare and fast. its not much better then the b16 though and not a huge after market.

the b17 is awsome NA but it is weak under PSI and I am not sure about No2. THey didnt make these motors long becuase they were weak in terms of abuse If I remmber correctly..something with the rods....Again this is from memory and my memory sucks

intake, header and exhaust are all easy. cams, valve springs, cam gears and pulleys. medium. clutch and light weight flywheel. medium. maybe a jackson racing supercharger if you want forced induction. thats medium.

you dont want a turbo. it will blow up the engine. just stay all motor.

B16a and b17 are the same motors actually. The only difference is the crank and of course the obd0 and obd1.Although the b16a has 111 lbs of torque while the b17a1 has 117 lbs of torque.it's a good motor though

Mugen never made any ecu for the B17A. In fact, japan never even had the motor offered to them. I'm sure it would be a B16A program, although, i wouldn't consider that to be optimal for a B17. It should run ok though
