Fabricated Greddy Carb Stickers
In the past week, I've been trying to fabricate my own Greddy Carb Sticker, since my custom turbo install is coming up this Sat.
The reason is because, cops here in Cali are nothing but true pigs that make you pop your hood. I know if they are not too smart, they will notice the fabricated sticker and think my **** is legit. Now, if they know what they are doing, I'm fucked.
Anyhow, I've been trying to look for places that can print it for me on Metallic Foil paper so it looks as genuine as can be. I've called Office Depot, gone to some custom print shop,...then I went to Kinkos. They can do it for me, but in bulk (smallest quantity is 250 and costs a lot of money). Even if I do get them to do it, I was thinking of just selling the rest if there is enough interest.
Tonight, I messed around with it and tried to get the metallic effect and printed it on some photo paper I had laying around. Then took a picture of it with my crappy digital camera (no flash). Then uploaded the image online.
Here's how it looks:

? or
?
The true colors are much lighter...but I know this will not last as this was printed with an Inkjet printer.
If there is enough interest, and if I find the right printing place, I might be able to mass produce it and sell it here on HT.com.
At least, its one safeguard that might work if a cop looks around under your hood and notices your non-greddy turbo setup.

Thing is, if I can get it printed on Metallic Foil Sticker Paper, it will look so legit, even you would be fooled. I just can't find a place yet that can do it for me. And those numbers on there really are for a Integra Greddy Turbo Kit.
In the last 3 consecutive weeks, I've been pulled over in the same spot but with different cops for having no front plate (but that's because mine fell out on the freeway
). I didn't even know you can get a fix-it ticket over another fix-it ticket even if you didn't take care of the first one yet.
And on both times, they made me pop my damn hood. Good thing, right now everything looks stock
.

No. They discontinued a long time ago.

If someone would print these up, on aluminum or whatever other material it takes to get the right look, I'm sure they will sell nicely.
Heck, whoever does it first and/or nicest, put me down for 2, one for the turbo, and one for an intercooler on a gsr. Just use the carb number off of the civic intercooler kit.

Ok i live in Florida where cops couldnt care less about all this. Me and my buddy have no cats on our tegs. and he ran open header for a while. WHy do you have to have a sticker. and why do they make you pop your hood when you get pulled over.

In Cali, every modification to the engine has to be CARB (California Air Resources Board) approved so that the air quality in California doesn't decline any more
Anyways, the CARB stickers on performance parts proves the car can be emissions legal and that paperwork from the manufacturer can be shown to back up this fact. For your other question, they probably pop hoods in an attempt to bust people for illegal modifications, i.e. intakes, headers, turbo kits, etc. and they can just do a quick scan for the CARB stickers, and if they're not there, then they have grounds for giving fix-it tickets if the car isn't stock. At least, that's what I think happens
