whats the proper proceedure?

1) you throw a cel code
2) you think youve fixed it
3) if its fixed should the cel go away or do u have to reset it? Then wait to see if it comes back.

I searched and didnt find a definite answer.

 

You can just reset the ECU after you've "fixed" the problem. If the CEL comes back then your fix wasn't the answer to the problem.

 

you can just pull your ground off your battery for 10 sec and you cleared your cel
