Default Car running through coolant, can't find leak....

Yep, my car has been goin through coolant like crazy, but I can't seem to find the leak. I would expect a puddle, but I never see one. Not in my driveway, and not at school. Any ideas anyone?

buy or borrow a pressurization kit, it'll allow you to pressurize the system as if you were driving to see where the leak is coming from. A cheap one can't be expensive... check ebay.

usually they don't leak until the they're pressurized.

A broken headgasket could be leaking coolant into the cylinders, causing your coolant to simply be eaten up by the engine itself. Are you getting white smoke out of your exhaust?

I haven't seen anything, but I'll check it out tomorrow. Would it smoke at idle?

do leak down test while leaving the radiator cap off while you're checking each cylinder

Ok well I didn't see any white smoke coming from the exhaust. I took a relatively spirited drive, parked, got out, no white smoke, no smoke period.

Get someone to follow you or push the throttle while you stand in back. Does it smell like syrup while you're driving?

Heh, doesnt smell like syrup, only right after I fill the coolant because of spills. I'll get someone to rev it tomorrow at school.

check oil and see if its milky then you have a head gasket leak

if not pressurize the system and look for a leak

taste your smoke, well not litterally, you can always smell coolant being burned, also check your dipstick for a milky substance, other wise start your car up and move your lines back and forth, alot of the time it wont leak when the car isnt running or hot enough.
