Code alarm honks after locking vehicle
I just recently got a code alarm installed. Sometimes when i lock the door, my car makes the original sound, but is followed but like 5 quick honks of the car. This on average happens about half the time i lock the car. anyone know what could be the problem???
not sure but code alarm is kind of junk.. just started working at cc as installer, and all the other installers say that the code alarms are junk, and theyre the only alarms cc carries now

They aren't junk, they just aren't DEI. the menu system is a little harder to learn, and they have extra wires that the DEI units didn't have, not to mention some are of different colors.
The 5 horn deal might be the shock sensor doing the warn away if it's the setup that uses the 425 master module. You typically have to turn down the light trigger of the shock sensor as it comes set to really sensitive from the factory. Also, keep the warn away and full blast of the shock sensor more than 15 "steps" apart or you can run into a falsing problem.

I personally would never put CA in my car. DEI is the only thing i would install in mine. Code alarm gives CC more trouble than ever.
Vouch cause i also work car stereo installation

audiovox owns Code Alarm and as far as I've heard from the past DEI also now (Hence why audiovox units now use the same wire colors as the DEI units). Each have their own good points and downfalls. DEI's have awesome manuals to help you if you need help, but they don't always tend to have the most features. Audiovox... well their manuals just suck. Code Alarm has some of the same manual issues as Audiovox but not as bad, but they do have some smaller cool things such as the random horn honk on the 425, along with the start volt averaging if you do a remote start tachless.
Personally I'd rather do DEI's at this point also since I'm more familiar with them (over 3 years installing those)... I'm new also with the Code Alarm (work for Circuit City also). I have to admit the Code Alarm tech setup is better than DEI. The people are helpful and knowledgeable like the DEI people, but they actually have a phone # for circuit city to call so we don't have to wait to get tech help lol.
As for the original poster, check the shock sensor settings, I'm thinking you'll find your issue has to do with it.
