He is talking about some amber translucent film. You can buy it at craft stores. Just cut a strip and stick it on. Insta-JdM y0!! Here is a link to a DIY article. http://www.geocities.com/mt3c/DIY_Amber_Clock.html

this is the thing that i did...i was too lazy to do a write up so i told that guy about it and he wrote the write up...all i did was buy folder tab holders and cut them out and put it over my clock...then i cut the dimmer wire in the back because i drive with my lights on ALL the time and its really hard to see the clock...hope that helps

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=721388

EDIT: He credited me for the idea

Use 1 or 2 films of that orange tape stuff. Pop out your existing plastic that's blue or purple. Replace it with the 2 pieces of film. Take a red sharpie marker and color over the actual digital board piece that displays the numbers. Reassemble it all back together.

NP...host the pics on imagestation.com, or hostedimage.com and then right click, click on properties, copy the url, click the "Image" button on HT, then paste the url there

FYI, now is the time to go and pick up the orange film since most places (especially arts & crafts stores) will have it in stock for the Halloween season coming up.

i thought all u had to do was place the film over the clock where the numbers are, on top of that..i put one layer on that, didnt work..was still white... i'm guessing i have to replace the existing piece on the exterior one ..? I was tired of trying to mess with it so i quit , gatecrasher got pics?

wow yours look really white, mine looks amber. my bulbs were not the cheap kinds it was like 3 bucks a pack. mine turned out really good, same with my climate control and everything. i didnt cut the dimmer wire cuz i dont want my clock to be all bright as hell at night. i just used the amber plastic thing i got from the hobby shop and did two strips over the clock. everythign else was easy.

Easiest thing to do....

Buy the Transparent Red Presentation Covers, cut out two layers and use double sided tape to stick it to your USDM clock(inside)

The two layers of red will light up as Amber.
