How can you tell if you are running Nissin or Akebono calipers???

 

I think a 91 EX has Akebbonno. Its a sedan right? I think the wagons and maybe coupes had the Nissin.

 

what about the 5th gen lx sedans?

 

I would assume the same as a 4th gen lx but I'm am the wrong person to ask. I know so little about 4th gens and I have one, I wouldnt know about 5th gen even though they are very closely related. But thats my guess.

I do beleive that is what is in the center of this discussion, did we decide that nissins were on the 5th gens?

 

My Accord has Nissin calipers, it says it on them. Just look at your calipers, it will say on them what kind they are, as stated above.

 

so if Nissin isn't printed on the calipers, they are Akebono's? 'Cause my front calipers don't have the name printed on them.

If "Nissin" isn't carved into the caliper, then it's an Akebono. You'll find a symbol with three diamond-looking things in it -- this should confirm they're Akebono.

FWIW, my 92 EX coupe had Akebono's.
