Default Anyone seen an ITR's changed to automatic?

I've seen strange things such as leather seats and a sunroof but has anyone seen an ITR's changed to automatic transmission?

Maybe for race application like bracket racing?

Curious

I think Marc (BlueR) has that conversion in his car. He was able to shave a couple seconds because of the more consistent shifts.

No, but it's entirely feasible to do. They have automatic VTEC tranny in Japan. But, you already knew that.

What if you could not drive a manual anymore?

I suppose if you loved it enough and had a personal accident it would be done, but the obvious alternative would be to sell the car.

An auto in a Type R.....Hmmmmm. (scratches and rubs scruff on chin)

Puting an auto in a Type R would be like having sex with your sister. You just don't do it.

I'd consider the F1 (SMG) transmission...

EDIT:

Nice Avatar! You're driving the damn bandwagon. You probably have Panther XP brakes and Mugen intake in your bandwagon. You're also probably driving around on 15x7 since 15x8 is too wide for bandwagons. Too heavy and you'll have to do major body modifications.

Tongue in cheek,
Chris

Edit, on topic, do paddle shifters with auto clutches count?

I remember seeing a guy in Honda Tuning a while back who had an SI with a automatic gsr motor/transmission swap. Of course he was in an accident and couldn't drive a stick anymore. That would be the only reason why I would do one anyway.

I could see doin an auto with a turbo application to limit turbo lag but then you would run into the dilema of finding a auto tranny that would hold up. Honda auto tranny's are not very good.
