i recently purchased a R LSD diff off a member on the board who has very good selling history. I planned on having it installed in my GSR trans....however my mechanic says the ring gear is too small to fit over the diff itself and he is not sure if it is an actually R diff...he also tried to fit it an extra Sir trans he has laying around and it has the same problem....which just doesnt make sense to me.....the diff itself has a stamp on the back "61B".....i snapped several pics and sent them to fellow board memeber Len.....he says it looks like an R diff but hes not sure about the stamping on the back.....does anyone know what that stands for or will it help identify it? PLEASE help i need my trans back together~!!!

noone knows anything about type R LSDs in the type R forum.....hard to believe...just tryin to get my trans back together thanx

 

You sure you have a GSR ring gear? LS Ring gear wont work with a ITR diff.
