Today while i was driving the car died when it hit Vtec. It would not start again untill reset the ECU. I drove it and the same thing happened again.
I am running a p72 ECU, so I replaced it with the stock P13 and it ran but when it was supposed to hit Vtec it stumbled, then kept going without Vtec.
I am throwing a code for IACV, but I was throwing that anyways. I am also throwing an oxygen sensor and sometimes a fuel injector code, but sometimes i dont throw any codes at all. What the hells going on? What exactly is "limp mode" and what would cause it?

"Limp" mode is your cars "Safe Mode"... the ECU will reduce the fuel cut/redline to 6800, and prohibit VTEC from engaging. "Limp" mode is caused by most error codes that end up in a CEL. Read the codes and fix what needs fixing, then reset your ECU.

I forgot to mention that this H22 is in a CRX. I didn't do the swap so im having some trouble trying to fix some of this stuff. Any suggestions on how to test the iacv? It clicks when I put power to one wire and ground the other. There is no voltage going to the blue/black wire, but there is to the yellow, and there is continuity between the plug and the ECU. When I plug in the IACV I hear a hum for a few seconds. The car wont run with it unplugged. Is there any way to test the valve itself?
