Default EXPERT ADVICE NEEDED on TIMING BELT look at my pic

Alright, here is the deal:

I have 123,000 miles on my 94 LS and I don't know if my timing belt was replaced or not.

I opened up the valve cover and inspected it. Here is the pic:

How does it look to anyone with experience? Your advice will be greatly appreciated!

that timing belt looks fine to me, but look inside the grooves between the teeth and see if there are any cracks.

Also I thought PR3 indicated a b16 cam gear, you got a head swap or something?

it's definitely a non-VTEC head, looking at the background of that pic.

Theres no point in looking at the belt. You know the car has 123k on it and it should have been changed at 90k or earlier. Why chance it??

How much can one expect to pay for the 90K service (belt, water pump, etc). I am at 75K now, but live in AZ where its hella hot so I may want to get it done soon. Whats a good price to pay?

either way of what the pic looks like would you rather a maybe $65.00 t-belt break and cost you a good runing motor.

The white discolored areas above the teeth in certain areas would concern me if I was playing "russian roulette".

As people have already stated, just change the belt for same reason you change your oil every 3000 miles, you need to change your timing belt every 90,000 miles... why risk it....be sensible and don't shoot yourself in the foot.

It's really hard to tell the condition of a timing belt just by looking at it. I did that once and I thought the belt was good. Guess what happened.

It's really not that hard to change and a new belt only cost $60 or so.

I had replaced my timing belt at 90k miles, but while i was at it, I replaced all my other belts,.... alternator, power steering, etc.... and i also replaced my water pump. It's better to be safe then sorry. I did all this for around 110 bucks, a friend and I did it ourselves

A few people have said this. "Not too much", "A cheap fix", etc. Many people don't know how to replace their own belts. This can cost upwards of $600-700 for someone to do it.

Just wondering, if there's a way to contact the previous owner? Ask him, or even take a look at his work receipts?

I second that, it looks like it had been changed around the 90k mile mark. I wouldn't bother with it until around 160k miles.

The timing appears to be good. However, WATERPUMP usually goes bad @ 120,000 miles. Suggeest doing a Timing Belt Service, which includes:
-Timing Belt
-WaterPump
-Accessory Belts
-Crank/Balance Seals

GOOD LUCK
