will 45 offset, 17" rims work for my crx?
45 is like the perfect offset for our car, so your set...I've got the same, 17 inch wheel w/ 45 offset...you'll have no rubbing and they'll tuck nicely...
Make sure the rims are not wider than 7" and does not weight half a ton..
17x7,0" offset 45 with 205/40R17 is the perfect setup.. goo luck with them!

wow that is going to be funny looking, sorry but that is just way to big for a crx. There is a limegreen and purple 87 rex here where I live and it has 17" show rims on it, uh it the most hideous looking thing i have ever seen. It looks like all it needs is a big bar going from one rim to the other and it could ride on railroad tracks.

I used to have 17's on my crx with I think a 42 offset. Sometimes the rear tires would rub a little while cornering hard. With a 45 offset, you will probably be ok. They will hurt your acceleration though, unless they are really light. I personally prefer lightweight 15's for a good all around setup.
