Default immobilizer???

hello everyone,

well i am not fortunate to have a type r of my own so i have myself an ek 00 and i am about to get my itr complete swap done to it this week. but my question is towards the type r itself. is it true that starting 99 or 00 type r came with a thing or immobilizer that if you did not have the orig key you could not start the car due to the fact that the itr have a heated key of some sort?

Katman's site has a how-to on how to remove the immobilizer. Only catch is...you'll constantly have a CEL on.
