Default A couple of small problems, Radio + Door

Today was the first day i actually got to drive my accord, while i was driving the battery light came on... then about 5 - 10 min later the radio (stock) shut off but the red light under Anti Theft started to blink.

I took it to where i bought it, he checked under the hood removed and put back the battery wire, there was an extra wire connecting to the battery that he removed and said was not needed, im guessing it was for the aftermarket fog lights because now they dont work.. can that be the wire?

He also told me that when he washed the engine he mightve gotten the alternator belt a little wet which might cause this ( i forgot to mention the radio ).. i dont know **** about cars but this sounds like bullshit to me, is it? anyways the light eventually shut off... but the radio still has not come back on.. red light still blinking.

Also, when i used to unlock the driver side door all the doors would unlock.. now they dont and the drivers door makes a loud noise even when i try locking it from the inside it wont i have to use the key.. im guessing its the motor in the door?

any info would help, thanks

I have the power door problem with noise on my 96 Ex also. If anyone knows an answer, help out please. The searches didn't come up with much helpful info.

Uh well the whole washing the engine bit and removing the battery wire won't do anything as far as I know. Does the radio ask you for the anti-theft code? I ran into that problem with my friends prelude. Oh, if the battery light came on while you were driving then I believe you could have a problem with your alternator. Get a load test done on the battery to see if it's in good working order.

I'd guess your alternator is bad. Turn the key to accessory and see if any of the electrical systems work. Fan, lights, etc.. or if the lights are dim. Jump start it if you can and go down to auto zone or something and do a load test on the battery to see if it is in fact the alternator. If it started the first time but not the second you probably discharged the battery starting it the first time. Shouldn't have shut it off.

You have a bad alternator. What happens is it is bad and then it slowly drains your battery and things like the radio, lights, blinkers, etc start acting up and when the battery finally drains that is it. You can actually drive on a bad alternator for a while. As far as the door buzzing when you unlock it, I am having the same problem. Did you find any answers for that?
