Pricing on 05 RSX cams and Intake manifold
Well, guys I got the pricing on the 05 Type S stuff today. The goodies on the inside, like the Type R cams and intake manifold. Unfortunately the pricing I have is in Canadian dollars, so I'll list 04 RSX and 01 ITR stuff just for comparison:
2004 RSX Type S:
Intake Manifold (17100-PRB-A00) - retail $474.36
Intake Camshaft (14100-PRB-A02) - retail $507.99
Exhaust Camshaft (14120-PRB-A01) - retail $413.95
2001 Integra Type R
Intake Manifold (17100-P73-A00) - retail $458.84
Intake Camshaft (14111-P73-J01) - retail $386.81
Exhaust Camshaft (14121-P73-J00) - retail $386.81
2005 RSX Type S
Intake Manifold (17100-PRB-A10) - retail $419.15
Intake Camshaft (14111-PRC-030) - retail $359.40
Exhaust Camshaft (14120-PRC-030) - retail $292.85

Nice research. When I bought my '04 (about 6 months ago) I'd already heard rumors about the '05, and I was hoping the parts would be affordable/available for an easy swap. 10+ horsepower without the 80lb weight gain sounds good to me, and I'm guessing that since it's all stock Acura parts, it won't even void the warranty.
I'm looking into the cost of the 2005 steering box gear, to hopefully boost the steering ratio up to 05 specs. That's one thing I miss about my Subaru...the quicker lock-to-lock steering.

the "P73" parts you listed are 00-01 DC2, not DC5
the real DC5 Type-R intake manifold is only $255 US ($355 CAN) at
http://www.polepositionproduct...5.htm
according to Hondata the '05 Type-S intake manifold is the same as 02-04; note the Type-R intake manifold has the "PRC" identifier while Type-S is PRB.

I never claimed that the P73 parts were DC5, and I never claimed that you couldn't find the manifold cheaper. I was simply trying to show that the 05 RSX parts are the cheapest yet.
If the manifold is exactly the same why does it have a different part number? I browsed the Hondata website and couldn't find anything to support what you said.
-edit-
I see what you were thinking, I had listed 2002 Integra Type R, sorry. I meant to list 2001, and I have since edited it.

the last part of the part# being different may indicate a slight revision, or it could be a model year tracking thing. (there are similar part# variances on some other parts between 02-03-04 even though they're interchangeable) Hondata examined the IM when they dynoed the 05, here's where they stated it is the same http://forums.clubrsx.com/show...pp=25
the important difference is PRB vs PRC, PRC being the indicator for Type-R parts, like with the camshafts (that's a decent price on those btw). The Type-R IM has visibly wider runners and the "PRC" casting on the 2nd runner.
here's what they should look like side by side. this would still be a worthwhile mod on the 05 if you can get a higher redline on it, since the Type-R IM only adds power above 8000 rpm.

I can verify that the ITR intake manifold does have PRC cast into the runner, as I have one of those on the shelf.
What about the 99 Si pistons being called P30's, but when you get the piston itself, the casting says PR3.
I'm not saying that is what is going to happen; but where did all these rumors of the 05 have the ITR manifold come from?

Why stop with ITR cams, a few hundered dollars more and you can get toda cams. You are going to be paying some good cash to install those cams, you might as well make it worth the cash and get toda's.
If you are going to do something, you might as well do it right the first time.

If by few hundred you really mean, $1050 american vs $652 Canadian. Don't also forget that for the Toda cams you also need an ecu reflash, toda valve train and cam pullies. Sure you'd make a lot of power, but don't kid yourself or anyone else on HondaTech, the cost to put Todas vs. Type R's will probably be 3 or even 4 fold.
These cams are retailing at less than the ITR cams did, it wont be long before you can find these used for $350 like you can with ITR cams for Bseries.
Another thing to consider is the amount of information you know about engine design. I know my ITR cams work damn well with my ITR intake manifold and header because Honda designed them to work together. The same can be said for Toda cams, but not to the degree that Honda would have done.
