The vehicle is a '96 Accord.

In the pic the red arrow shows where the leak begins, the blue arrow indicates direction. It seems to run down that thin line from coming somewhere under the valve cover.







Here's a pics of a spark plug, you can see the see the tip of it, the rest is submerged in oil.




I know there was a recall on the front balancer shaft oil seal, is that what it is?

Suggestions, thoughts, comments?

 

from what i can see i would say that it is the rocker seal that is leaking.
as for the plugs i would say the the plug seals on the rocker cover are leaking.
change rover and plug seals, clean oil off and recheck in a few hundred miles.
make shure you put the rocker seal on right otherwise it will just leak agian.

your oil leak is coming from the balancer shaft seal. it is a coming thing on most accors 95-97. The leak is a major leak, they had a recall on it about a year ago but you missed it. You can go to honda and buy a clip that was made to stop this seal from falling in. it cost about $15 to the most and isn't that hard to put on. You should check you oil level because when that seal goes your oil starts spilling out. GO to honda asap and get that fixed. They might still be able to do it for you under the recall but i doubt it.

 

Thanks for the info, and your're right my car is losing a ton of oil each day. Does this mean I need a new seal also or will the clip help to fix the seal too. How can I figure out how to do this? Are there instructions online or in any manuals?
