what's your goal?

for horsepower, there is no comparison... turbo will woop all motor all the way around for drag racing.

however, for road racing, the throttle response of n/a is perfect for the teg...

it depends what you want to do.

I would do an LS turbo because this setup is more stable and produces more hp's then an ls/vtec.

the ls/vtec is an unstable setup based upon the fact that you are mating a head to a lower end that have different red lines so you are going to have to build up the bottom end to handle the increased rpms. Or don't push the engine too hard.

ls/vtec turbo is an extremely unstable setup that should only be tackled by an experienced tuner with deep pockets.

hahahhhahaha extremely unstable.........i dont think so.......if you let a first grader put it together then maybe. I just put together a fully built ls vtec turbo and I might add this is the best setup I ever driven. I also had a ls turbo which i liked, but the ls vtec is more my fav.

Build it for turbo then boost it . That way when the boost addiction grabs your dick and pulls on it like an x-crazed raver girl, you can comfortably turn that **** up and enjoy.

i would just stick with LS turbo. but that's just my preference. although i know for a fact that LS/VTEC TURBO will yield better results...i like my odds.

LS/vtec gets involved once you start to build it... then you have put the turbo into the mix.... if you want to dish out the money and get involved in your build and do it the RIGHT way.... go for it... you'll love it.

If you just want a healthy, almost unsafe does of speed for less than half the total for the above.... boost the LS. It will take 9-10 psi on stock internals and if you get a properly sized turbo, good manifold, exhaust... you will make some GOOD power with JUST the turbo setup.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO LV/VTEC, LS/VTEC TURBO OR LS TURBO. PLEASE TUNE THAT ****!!!! DON'T BLOW TUNE TUNE TUNE TUNE AND ******* TUNE!!!! IF YOU WANT IT RIGHT. PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU IT WILL TAKE 7-9 PSI ON STOCK BUT UNTUNE GET READY TO BLOW OR ONLY BOOST 5 PSI. 7-10 TUNED YEAH IT CAN HANDLE IT BETTER HONDATA, AEM SOMETHING BUT TUNE TUNE AND TUNE OR DON'T COME BACK CRYING WHEN IT BLOWS. YOU WILL GET ADDICTED AND TURN THAT BITCH UP BOOST CONTROLLER IS YOUR WORSE ENEMY WHEN YOU ARE UNTUNED!!!!
TURBO

1-One question how do we learn our best lessons?
Experience=knowledge
2nd question would you hired an experience mechanic or one that don't know ****?
Ask anybody in here that really knows about turbo if stock internals will take 7-9 PSI with no tuning it might! good luck on the motor and a few weeks boom......
If you can't afford tuning, you can't afford a new motor be smart keep it save stay at 5 if there is no tuning.
I let you figure it out and find out for yourself!!!!

yeah hybrids are fun but you have to know what you are doing. If someone asks a question like that eg. the guy that started the thread, then they need more experience in tuning before they go and run a setup like that. Otherwise they are going to wasting their money.

boost for sure... there are some people on here boosting 12-14 psi on stock block making very reliable power, 250-300whp on stock block is nothing unheard of, its all in how well the motor is tuned.

btw whoever said 7-9 psi is good for 250-280whp , that is being alittle too optimistic..MOST b18b motors will put around 170-190whp @ 6 psi , 200-230whp @ around 8 psi..and 220-250whp at 10 psi.. every motor responds alittle bit differently, but these are averages.

12-14 psi on a stock block LS is possible, but don't call it reliable unless you have one pushing 50k miles.... I wouldn't go over 10-11psi on stock internals unless I could afford a new motor.... and that's reality.
