Default Help! Smoke with a new turbo?

Ive got every thing in place now but im not running boost yet as the injectors i got off ebay have failed so im waiting for some more but the thing is that if i rev it on the spot i get a puff of blue smoke. The car has had new rings and valve seals and was fine before the turbo went on. This morning a friend was behind me and he said it smoked when i reved it but not whilst i was accelerating. any ideas what it could be. I was thinking the oil return but its nearly vertical (will try and post a pic later). Could it be to much oil getting to the turbo? The oil feed has about a 4mm bore and is tapped off from the sendor.

B16a1 with stock internals
T3 super 60 turbo (internal wastegate)
S-AFC hack when injectors come.

I have that same problem...its because when your not in gear and running...then the fuel is different...so your running rich...are you sure its blue...or gray more black...i just tuned it with my V-AFC and i'm running really good...its kind of a natural thing with the turbos...hope that helps
Good luck with the tuning.

Im pretty sure that its oil smoke, im still using the standard injectors and standard setting on the AFC as im not running boost yet because of my 440's giving up before they were fitted.
Ive been doing some reading and it seems that the correct size for the oil feed is 1/8 which is just over 3mm and ive got 4mm so this may be the cause. it seems to be one problem after another with this car!

sounds like you might be having a seal in the turbo going out.

but if it were the seals, wouldn't it do it all the time. even more so when at higher revs.
Has any one else got a T3 super 60? if so are you using any restricters in the feed line?

Ive got the actuater disconnected so that the waste gate is always open. This is only till the new injectors come, then it will be running about 5 psi till i can get it on the dyno.

probly as already said, Turbo seals not liking the oil systems pressure.

I think you can put a restrictor on the oil in line to reduce the amount of pressure the turbo gets...

I THINK... I am by no means very turbo smart..

Yeah that what i was thinking. only thing is that i dont want to restrict it to much and end up with a fried turbo because its oil cooled.

restrictors work, and they wont let the oil cool, if anyhting they warm it up a little more because its being compressed a bit to get by the restrictor. If you restrict pressure to the turbo then it will just feed somwhere else in the engine at higher pressure.

Properly sized lines work best.
