How do I know if my factory PCV system is sufficient for a 12:1 2L engine?
Im thinking that my engine may be experiencing too much crankcase pressure. The PCV system is completely stock and Im wondering...Is it capable of relieving the pressures of a 2L 12:1 cr engine? I read something from Endyne about them not being enough for high revving larger displacement engines.
Everything I read seems to lead me to believe that I need more pressure relief for the crankcase.
The reason I ask is the oilpan gasket is leaking slightly. It was a brandnew gasket and everything was properly torqued in the correct pattern.
Im think about hooking up a pressure guage to the dipstick hole and take some readings while driving.Anyone know how much pressure is too much?
Engine is a 84.5mm B18C w/ 89mm crank, 12:1 pistons,GSR head and stock PCV system.
Thanks in Advance!

u need a crankcase breather. alot of ppl think the stock system is inefficient even with a high compression 1.8L.
Thanks 12 NV. Read your story on the hatch.Very impressive! Nice clean car.
Anyways...Has anyone used Endynes kit? Or has anyone made one themselves?
Ill probably end up making one myself.
Also, cant too much Positive crank pressures also cause a bit of blowby from the rings having to fight against them to properly seal?
Thanks again for any and all responses!

larrys kit is a good kit. i personally went with Z10 engineerings tank and i bought all the barbed fittings/hoses/clamps/block breathers elsewhere. at around $150 for a complete kit its not outrageously expensive but still spendy. i think i had right around $110 into my kit including tank.
some ppl will tell u to buy the moroso tank like larry has in his kit from summit or jegs but the one they sell at summit/jegs only has 1 fitting from what i could see. i prefered to have a tank with 2 fittings for use with the 2 holes provided by honda in the back of the block.
back to ur last post, yes everything u added in that post looks to be accurate. looks like someones been doin their research.

Thanks for the info
Ill be piecing together one in the near future.
Im hoping this is the reason my oil turns dark so quickly and my slight oil consumption. (forced blow-by).
The compression numbers seem just right at 260-270psi.
I think my Lost motion assemblys are shot too. Man when it rains it pours doesnt it?
