Hey everyone, first post ever for me here on H-T!!!! I have an LS with all your regular bolt-ons and a little bit of port work.......My question is, when I bought the car, the previous owner also gave me an extra head that he had laying around that he never got a chance to build. The code on it is a P75-4?? I know P75 is LS, but what is a P75-4?? He told me it was a 10:1 compression head?? Was he full of poop?? Cause I know the LS is 9:1........

It sounds like its a non-vtec head. Whether or not it is an LS, or CR-V head, really doesn't matter at this point.

Is the head stock? If the head has been milled, that will change the CR when it is installed. Also, there is more to a compression ratio that just the combustion chamber on the head. Piston selection, deck height, etc play a role in that.

So, anyways, why are you asking what head it is? Are you going to use it? Shouldn't you have maybe asked the seller what it was? Afterall, it was his, not ours, so he'd probably know best.

 

Can't find the previous owner anymore........I dunno, I guess I will just take it to a shop and see what they come up with. I want to use it if it will be worth it, I just have an LS right now. I guess actually I still could build this new head even if it's an LS, and then I would still have my daily driver with no down time. That works, thanks for the help though.
