Default Alpine CDA 9827, CDA 9825, CDA 9830,CDA 9831? Which is good? Pricewise which model= costworthy?

Well I need a head unit to play the Ipod on in the car so which one would you pick? The Alpine CDA 9827, CDA 9830 or CDA 9831, or CDA 9825?

CDA 9825 is 165.00

CDA 9827 is 209.00

CDA 9830 is 255.00

CDA 9831 is 290.00

Chances are after used in the 4Runner for about a year it'll be going in a WRX or SRT-4 neon.

I'll also be getting this http://www.alpine-usa.com/prod...i.htm so the Ipod works in it

models so close together...a quick glance online, correct me if im mistaken the 9825 has no mp3 playback... probably the 9831 because of the few different graphics it has and i hate having the lower model.

I found the 9380 for $269 shipped.

Another site has it for 245 with 15 ground shipping but only 26 for 3rd day.

i have the 9827 and got it for $170 from a friend..i really like it a lot. the only think i dont like is that i cant make it dim. but who cares? i can still see it in day light perfectly, and at nighttime perfectly too. also plays WMA and MP3 files, plus a 3rd sub output so i can control the sub from the headunit. and it has this little MX button which boosts everything even louder

I have a CDA - 9827 and it works great for me. It has the Ai-Net and plays Mp3s which was all I was interested in. I am also eagerly waiting the arrivial of the Ipod interface. I hate having my CD case in the car flying around.

You can get any pretty much any headunit. Most head units have an Aux imput. You can hook an ipod up to aux imput, you just need an adaptor for it. I know Monster cable makes one, and Im sure other companys do as well.

CDA 9835 all the way! Best damn deck i've ever had. Graphics on it are awesome and lighting matches ITR dash lights perfectly. If you can find it... I definitely recommend getting it instead.

Yeah but using the alpine interface you can control the ipod with the headunit and not have to fumble with the ipod while driving. Im really getting anxious for the interface to become available since they are on backordered.

Trust me you don't want that shitty interface, some compliants are that it takes forever to scroll through songs and with the alpine head unit and you can't control the music through the ipod it self. Its not like your getting a loss of quality either with a aux input. Like I said buying a aux wire was probably the best choice.

Excuse my ignorance but is a Mcintosh headunit stock?

If its a stock head unit, there should be aux input in it. If not you should check your owners manual or just look at the head unit too see if there is a aux input already. If so you can just get a wire like this.

It doesnt have to be a monster wire. You can goto radio shack or best buy and get a mini to aux wire. Its just a wire where 1 end plugs into a cd player or ipod and the other side has 2 plugs 1 red and 1 white .

they also have the 9826 out now. It has MP3 playback and Ai-net. It only has 1 4V preout. It's perfect for me. i don't need a bunch of pre outs or features. Plus I've found it for $178. Perfect for me. Check it out.

As long as you don't plan on using it with the ipod/alpine interface, you should be good.

I meant because it sucks not because it isn't compatible. I specifically purchased a 9827 because it was the cheapest the Alpine Headunit with Ai-Net, when I was actually hyped up about the Ipod/Alpine interface.
