Default dizzy problems?

Hey how could I tell if my dizzy is dead? Would the rotor still spin? Also could getting no spark be a cause of a dead dizzy?

More details as to how you would diagnose the dizzy. IE, does it crank at all? Does it spark, are you getting fuel? Is the pump primering. More info is going to make helping you much easier. - Darrell

ok im gettin fuel, it cranks over fine perfectly, im getting fuel, the rotor turns, i dont know what you mean by primering, im not getting any codes from the ECU, and im not getting any spark, i already replaced the coil and it ran fine for about a day then after each time i tried to start it, it would crank longer and longer before it started until finally it wouldnt start, just cranks. o ya and i have an 89 DOHC ZC motor with 91 crx HF ecu...

with the dohc zc its easy to put the rotor on backwards and also common for the screw that holds the rotor in place to pop out.

that'b the first check i'd make

ok, imma go check it, but i got one more question, what should i buy first? dizzy, ICM, or ECU because my ECU is from a CRX HF, also i have a new coil and i checked the ICM and they said it was good at autozone. which owuld be more likely to go out and cause no spark??

Check it first.

ICM's (also called "ignitor") go out, but you can check those too to see if it's bad or not.

Is your ECU getting any code?
Is your CEL on all the time?

Well my rotors not backwards because i turned the pole around w/out the rotor and the hole isnt big enough to fit the screw through so thats not it. Also i have no idea what CELL is, sorry, and the ECU isnt throwing any codes.

no it my CEL isnt on, but i used to be able to hear my fuel pump when i turned the ignition but after i was messin with my stereo and fuses and now i cant hear it but i guess im still gettin fuel cuz when i try to start it i smell the gas and i took out the plugs and they still smell like gas, but my ECU isnt throwing any codes at all, i figured if I cut the wire that goes to the fuel pump or sumthin the ECU would throw codes but i dunno, it still didnt, if my ECU was out could I still have spark? And would the ECU partially work cuz i unplugged the ECU and plugged it up and some of the lights, oil and batt, turned on.

check your fuses under the dash (under the steering wheel) and in the under hood fuse box. does the CEL come on for a second when you turn the ign to II

DOHC ZC w/ a hf computer??? The first thing that I would try is a 88-89 integra ECU or a 90-91 Si ECU.

ya i will try those ECU's, but will they snap rite in? Ya my CEL comes on for a second then goes off. But now I hear a click noise from the main relay instead of hearing the fuel pump. but now im hopin that when I buy the new ECU and dizzy i will get spark.
