Default $400 homemade turbo kit

Well I finally finished my turbo kit which set me back a grand total 409! I made alot of the stuff myself so it saved me alot of money and headaches. This is my second kit and the first one I bought was pretty much all made so I can't take credit for it and didn't really work the greatest. Now I'm happy as a teenager after seeing his first porno. the IHI turbo comes with a goofy flange so I decided to weld a T3 flange right over the top of the other one. I'll explain later why. Next the manifold was a old Y7 exhaust manifold that has the cat built right onto it. So I took and cut off the cat and welded on a T3 flange and onto the turbo so when I wanna upgrade I don't need a new manifold too. I sprayed the mani with high temp alum. paint and wrapped it in some leftover DEI header wrap I had leftover. I had some spare exhaust hangers laying around and welded those onto the flange to give it alittle more strength just incase. Overall for $409 at the most I'm pretty satisfied with my results. I hit 12.6 psi today after installing new plugs(one step colder NGK over stock) and retarding the timing and she pulls all the way to redline and is at full boost by 3.5-4k with no bogging or stalling stuttering and no check engine lights. Oh yeah!
Specs
-IHI RHB5 VF $50 junkyard
-Modded Y7 exhaust mani with T3 flange $16 ebay (T3 flange)
-modded 2G DSM SMIC $40 ebay
-exhaust piping for DP & chargepipes, couplers $40 menards & Autozone
-Monza BOV(and chargepipe) & Greddy blubox $125 HMT member
-Blitz dual turbo time/boost gauge $50 ebay
-Cheapturbolines.com oil line kit $78
-NGK plugs $10

HMT OWNZ! Just goes to show you don't need alot of money to be boosted and quality at that.

I couldn't get a good pic of the smic. It's mounted right where the resonator box on the stock intake goes. I had to cut off on endtank, rotate it and then I JB welded it on. JB weld ownz too! Don't worry that's the only thing that got JB weld

Looks like a sweet setup, what are you using for engine management?

:::Edit, nvm I see you have the blue box. Isnt that for fuel management?

Greddy bluebox. No problems with it so I'm not gonna change it for uber or afc hack for the time being. This is on a P06 w/d16y7 and z6 intake stuff in a 92 dx hatch. Only thing that sucks is that my y8 tranny took a **** so I had to find something quick so I picked up a CX(ewwwww) for $20 locally. First and second aren't bad but everything after that is horrible. next on the list is a new clutch and a z6 tranny.
