Default How do you get "base" ignition timing on a '96 Prelude VTEC?

I know on the older Honda's, you would jumper a connector together. It's been a while since I've checked ignition timing on my Prelude. Does anyone know if there is a jumper connector somewhere that needs to be connected before being able to adjust my ignition timing?

Thanks!

Sorry you can't adjust timing. On OBDII cars the timing is set by the ECU, and if you alter it, the ECU will compensate for it.

If you did have an OBDI car then you would just loosen the distributor and turn it to advance timing. No jumpers to connect for preludes

As I said, its not going to work on a 96'

I kind of figured. Can someone else second this?

Yup; 96 is the first year they implemented OBDII, and as said previously, it did not allow you to change the static timing by rotating the distributor.

I believe the Helms manual says to replace the ECM if the timing is wacked.
