what is this plug? pic inside

Just built an LS VTEC and I have no idea what this plug is. It was on the B18A1 block when I got it so I left it on it, but do I need to plug anything into it?

Knock sensor.

It is not the knock sensor. This plug was on the block when I got it and is on all B18A1's The knock sensor is black. Nice guess... Anyone actually know what it is?

its a coolant temp sensor, thats a B18 a right? they dont have the sensor on the termostat housing so it is in the back of the block
