Hello Everyone,
I just wanted show you guys how even Inverted LED's look in our gauge cluster.
>>>PARDON MY SHiTTY CAMERA<<<
-Inverted LED's (youll need 3):

-Unscrew (2) philips-type scews underneath the top portion of the cluster (circled in red):

-Pull out the panel you just unscrewed starting from the top.
-Then unscrew (3) philips-type screws (circled in red):

-Now pull out the gauge cluster and turn it around.

-The (3) main cluster lights are circled in red:
(cluster is right-side-up but turned around / it is not upside-down)
-Twist counter-clockwise to remove.
-Remove bulb from black plug.
-Replace with Inverted LED.
-When plugging in LED, make sure you know which side is Positive and Negative.
-Top/Right (circle in red) half is positive.
-Bottom/Left (circled in blue) half is negative.

-Plug in black plug with Positive LED going to Positive on the gauge cluster.
-Repeat for the other three bulbs.
-Turn cluster around and do a quick test.
-Again, pardon my crappy digicam - a friend gave it to me for free - it has no focus lens - or light adjustment.
Heres how it looks:

I swear - it looks brighter then in those pictures!!!
its not as bright as a Lexus, but its very visible and very even - as even as any regular wedge bulb.
You can get these bulbs from this seller on ebay

Good seller - fast shipper.

dude, I've done this before, with 3 different types of LED 168 bulbs. All of them look like ****...
There are bright and dim spots. I switched back to my Raybrigs bulbs after this...
These LEDS are not designed for Gauge Clusters.
Just buy some nice Bulbs and you will be happier.

its my crappy camera..
Its not super bright, but its as even as any regular bulb.
and it is very visible.
You guys were using typical LED bulbs
which give a beam pattern like this:

Inverted LED's give a beam pattern like this:

Inverted LED's are designed to shoot around the sides.
Traditional LED's are designed to shoot straight foward.
oh well.. i tried.

Amber looks sooo sexy for guages.. it's JDM yO! lol jk
. Nice thread though. At least you showed some pictures. Might as well start clearing up all the pictures for us so we can really see the guages at night.
