was wondering if anyone bought an S on ebay. how was the experience? any problems? cautions? advice? would you buy a car on ebay?

i heard most cars from texas are washed titles that's why there are so many listings from texas versus from california or texas, states with more people and affluence.

 

I bought my one of my old GSR's on ebay - no problems at all. The car was perfect.

it all depends on who you are buying from, etc..... If they have lots of positive feedback and very low negative feedback, then that is probably a good start. ask them (if they are private seller) to take the car to the honda dealer for a $50 inspection type deal. That way you hear right from the honda dealer what issues there are.

I bought a 914 porsche and my S2000 both out of state from eBay, but I had someone check them out first before I sent $.

Paying is another issue..... i bought one from a dealer... i checked them out with the better business bureau first..... the other was an older guy who a bunch of people knew, so I just sent him a bank check and had a carrier pick up the car.

 

texas local car resale value is horrible so they try to sell out of state and get more money.

 

Just be very cautious.

 

well i know e-bay is one of the best but dont do anything without a guarantee.
Personally i woulndt buy a car if i don't see it and get it checked with my own mechanic.

 

I bought my 04 s2k on ebay. Transaction went very well and the car was in beautiful condition.

 

bought a bike off of ebay, should've had it inspected but you learn from your mistakes.
