My car overheats and boils over, what could it be?
I have a b16 in my 90 hatch and it is starting to overheat. This is the first time it has happened, the temp gauge went above the 3/4 mark and I shut my car off. I flushed the radiator fluid, added new fluids and replaced the cap. Still have the same problem. It boils over into the overflow tank and everything it hot. My fans work. Any ideas? thermostat? waterpump?

I would replace the thermo, just follow your top radiator hose to the block and you got it. If that doesnt do it, replace the water pump, if that doesnt do it pray you dont need a head gasket.
please guys take my advice. if you don't get a spoon or mugen one, get a honda one.

be sure to get rid of any air in your cooling system. there should be a bolt that looks like a brake bleeder bolt on your thermo housing loosen that up until all the bubbles are gone.

This could also be caused by a low oil condition. If there is not enough oil to properly coat the pistons and such as it should your engine will overheat. So if you have a slow leak or burn oil this could be why your overheating too.
Mine used to overheat everytime I got stuck in traffic. A simple oil change and making sure it was filled to the proper level solved this problem.

If your oil is that low that it can not supply the right amount of oil for properly lubrication, you have bigger problems then just over heating.
